James was born and raised in Jefferson, Georgia outside the city of Athens. He is one of six siblings who were all homeschooled through high school and attended UGA. He is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta and was called to serve at Westminster PCA, Huntsville in January of 2021 where he lives with his wife Anna and their daughter Eliza-Jane.
James first felt the call to ministry while attending Gainesville State College, where he met his wife, Anna. He switched his major from Avian Biology to Poultry Science and transferred to UGA to complete his degree. It was there he heard of the RUF internship that would earn him a scholarship to attend seminary, so after graduating and getting married, James and Anna spent the next two years at Texas A&M ministering to international students. They returned to Georgia in 2016 to attend RTS Atlanta and serve with RUF at Kennesaw State. He completed his pastoral internship with Cherokee Presbyterian Church in Canton, GA, and earned his Masters of Divinity in December of 2020.
James and Anna have a daughter, Eliza Jane, born in February of 2019. She loves people, playing outside, and pretending to be a puppy. Anna is an artist and enjoys all things creative, literary, and historical. James loves reading theology and talking about how knowing God changes your life. As a nerd, he enjoys Star Wars, LOTR, and Anime. He is always available if coffee or spicy food is involved, and can often be found playing disc golf or cheering on the Atlanta United soccer team.
