Pastor Roberts grew up just outside Detroit, Michigan in the city of Livonia. He was one of seven children. In 1974, at the age of 16, he became a believer in Jesus Christ while on a 3-week vacation with many of his friends. He graduated from high school in 1976, and in 1982 he graduated with a degree in Christian Education and Religion from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. Upon graduation he worked as a youth director in churches in Plymouth, MI; Livonia, MI; and Miami, FL. It is in Miami where he met and married his lovely and gifted wife, Robin.
In 1993, Jim, Robin and 1-year old Andrew moved to Columbia, SC where Jim attended Columbia Biblical Seminary and interned at Lexington Presbyterian Church. Upon his graduation in May of 1996 he then accepted the call of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, AL, to become their Family Life Pastor. Nine and 1/2 years later he moved his family, which then included daughter, Sarah to South Carolina to become the senior pastor Westminster Presbyterian Church in Clinton. In addition to his work as pastor, he served on the boards of Bailey Manor (retirement home), The local Y, United Ministries of Clinton (utility assistance, food pantry) and 1 John 3 Ministries (poverty alleviation).
His loves include both Mexican food and Seafood, but more importantly he loves his Lord, his church and his family.
