As strange as it may sound, ‘giving’ is a gift to the Christian!
In that one simple act we have the privilege of demonstrating in a tangible way both the gratitude that we feel for the many gifts of grace that we’ve been given in Christ and the trust we have that God will ‘supply all our needs’ in Him.
We believe that giving is an act of worship, a kind of sacrifice that shows that we understand that we hold all that we have not as owners but as ‘stewards’ who’ve been entrusted with the goods of another to be invested in the things that He values most.
We believe that the age-old biblical standard of the tithe…the giving of a tenth of our income to the Lord…remains the baseline for our giving, and that it is good and right to give free will offerings above and beyond that for the relief of those in need and for the spread of the gospel both here and around the world.
Those who prefer to handle their finances digitally may find it helpful to give online. While we are happy for you to use this service, we would be remiss if we didn’t encourage you to be careful in the use of credit. If you are currently carrying a balance on your credit card, we would encourage you to use debit only online or give by cash or check in person in worship on Sunday.
Thanks for your support of the Lord’s work here at WPC…may God help us always be cheerful givers!
